Celebrated Canadian kid lit author Ashley Spires’s Eisner Award-nominated book series “Burt the Beetle”, about a kind beetle who may not have the abilities of the other bugs, but is a fantastic friend, is being developed into a new preschool series with TVOkids. The TV series, a creation of the talented writing trio behind Agent Binky: Pets of the Universe (Treehouse TV, Peacock) – Ashley Spires, Hugh Duffy, and Carolyn Hay – is set to be produced by Epic Story Media (Bubble’s Hotel, Hop).  Spires, Duffy, Hay, Ken Faier, and Steve Couture of Epic Story Media will serve as EPs with Duffy and Hay adding their story editing talents. Meanwhile, Kids Can Press has acquired a third Burt the Beetle book to add to the series, which have been translated into four languages.”

Collaborating with Canada’s 7-time Olympic Medalist and Gold Medal Champion ANDRE DE GRASSE, “Kids on Track” has Andre running a sports club for kids and…the odd puppet. In these short, live action episodes, Andre will lead the kids through fun physical activities and teach them about teamwork and other life hacks along the way.

Sid and Kid follows the adventures of sheep Sid (“I’m dareful!”) and goat Kid (“I’m careful!”) as they take their roles of Super Helpers in Ms. Giddyup’s class to heart. The bestie beasties set out on a course to help others in their family and community, often to comically disastrous results. It’s not until they become ‘Super Sid and Sidekick Kid’, looking through their ‘problem peepers’ and listening with their ‘trouble trackers’ do they really figure out how to make a difference.
